A Day in My Life
A video display of a day in my life as a young woman during the menstrual cycle.
It is personal, as it only depicts how menstrual pads are used in menstruators’ lives from similar social classes and living conditions. However, it provokes criticism and reflections on the social portrayals of menstruators. By centralizing on the flowing stream of redness splashing over the mundane, it is urging the viewers to ruminate on how and why “the blood” is magically erased in commercials of women’s sanitary products, as well as in the narratives of the physical struggles that women face in their daily lives.
